Information request about telephone recording technology used by the PHSO and the cost of the devices
The PHSO has five Olympus VN711PC Dictaphones with each using an Olympus TP-8 Telephone pick up microphone. These have previously been used to record telephone calls which are then anonymised and used for training purposes, but are not in operation currently.
These devices were purchased on 8 August 2013 at a cost of £291.30.
These are the only devices, technology or equipment held by the PHSO for the function of recording telephone calls.
I hope the information is helpful.
