We are the final stage for complaints about the NHS in England and public services delivered by the UK Government. We look into complaints where someone believes there has been injustice or hardship because an organisation has not acted properly or fairly or has given a poor service and not put things right.

About the role

A key member of our senior leadership team, you will be at the heart of ensuring we deliver creative and effective communication strategies and campaigns that help raise awareness and understanding of the Ombudsman's work and maximise the impact of our work to improve public services.

We have an ambitious strategy for change and you will play a key role in ensuring that we listen, engage and involve our staff in our transformation.

An experienced and innovative leader,you will have a proven track record of providing advice to senior leaders on sensitive and complex communication issues.

With a track record of operating at a senior level you will use your influencing skills to build relationships externally to help us achieve our strategic objectives. You will lead a small team of talented communication professionals, encouraging best practice and development to inspire staff and keep them motivated.

You will lead by example and keep up to date on the latest communication developments, including digital communications and technologies to ensure we effectively reach different audiences and will be experienced at evaluating the effectiveness of communications activity.
