About us
We are the Parliamentary Health Service Ombudsman, an independent national ombudsman service. We are here to make final decisions on complaints that are yet to be resolved by the NHS in England, UK government departments, and some other public organisations. We do this fairly and transparently without taking sides, and our service is completely free.
About the role
At PHSO, we have been undertaking a digital transformation to help our organisation align and thrive in the modern working world. This transformation has seen lots of new technology and infrastructure introduced across the organisation, helping us to work more efficiently, effectively, and collaboratively. This modernisation will continue as new technology becomes available and as our organisation develops to introduce new ways of working.
To best support our colleagues, we must ensure we equip them with the skills, knowledge, and best practice approach on utilising the many different technologies available. This is important not only for us as an organisation to get the most from our colleagues, but to also demonstrate our commitment to their development and career aspirations.
This role will be central to the development of skills for the end users of the different software platforms we use across the organisation. You will work as part of a central Learning and Development (L&D) function, but will be closely aligned to our ICT, Facilities and Communications functions to provide expert advice, design, deliver and evaluate learning activities, whilst providing L&D technical knowledge to stakeholders at all levels.
Each day could be vastly different, from smaller 1-1 coaching to support colleagues who may need additional help to build their skills on Microsoft Office software, developing your own digital and face to face learning and working with our Digital Learning Designer to build large online programmes, to working in large project groups to introduce new technology.
You will be the subject matter expert in your field and demonstrate expert consultancy and training skills to equip the organisation with the skills and knowledge they need now and in the future.
