About us
We are the final stage for complaints about the NHS in England and public services delivered by the UK Government. We investigate complaints where someone believes there has been injustice or hardship because an organisation has not acted properly or fairly or has given a poor service and not put things right.
About the role
As an External Clinical Adviser, you will be joining our team of more than 900 clinically qualified professionals who support our lay-led casework teams with the provision of clinical professional advice on complaints requiring clinical input.
Our Clinical Advice Support Team will approach you as required with a non-obligatory offer to provide advice, guiding you through our process, and linking you with a dedicated Lead Clinician to ensure you have all the support you need.
Advice will be requested as either a written report or a discussion with a caseworker depending on the complexity and nature of the complaint.
We ask for External Advisers to be employed within the NHS (and to be regularly completing NHS work), registered with their relevant regulatory body (GMC) and to have at least five years’ experience a consultant.
We invite applications from suitably qualified psychiatrists.
This is an exciting opportunity to help make a difference.
The work we do is extremely important in righting individual wrongs, informing public policy and driving improvements across the NHS.
