Ombudsmen are independent and can be a way to resolve some disputes without going to court. They look at complaints about public and private organisations. Usually you have to complain to the organisation first before am ombudsman will look into it.
If we can't help, there may be other ombudsmen who are able to.
You can find a list of ombudsmen who are members of the Ombudsman Association on their website.
We can only look at complaints about the NHS in England, UK government departments and some other UK public organisations. If you want to complain about a devolved national department, in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, you can find details about ombudsmen in other parts of the UK on the same Ombudsman Association page.
