Sir Alex Allan, KCB
Alex joined the Board on 2 January 2018. He has many years of experience gained throughout his long career at the highest levels of civil service. Alex was until recently the chair of the Selection Panel for Queen’s Counsel Appointments and a trustee of the Treloar Trust – a charity providing education and support for young people with physical disabilities. Former roles include the Prime Minister’s Independent Adviser on Ministerial Interests, Principal Private Secretary (Chief of Staff) to the Prime Minister and to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, High Commissioner to Australia, and chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee. He has led various Government reviews, including two of record management.
